Ship Channel Scandals

Monday evening, 3 photographers (C,E,S) ventured out to the Wayside/Lawndale/Avenue Q area. After some exploration of the refineries (the group insisted they were passing time waiting on a train), the individuals found themselves beneath a bridge on the perimeter of a car graveyard/landfill. With cameras in hand, the individuals were approached by a middle-aged male on a golf cart. The male informed the photographers that they would not be able to take pictures of the bridge. "We just want to photograph all those cars in the landfill" E stated. After a couple of minutes of chit-chat, the individuals were allowed to take several images while the golf cart patrol watched over them like a guardian angel. "Last week an officer was shot in the face," he explained to the group. "That was right here." Somewhat shaken, the photographers collected their images, and left the scene once a second golf cart male arrived. To balance the shakes of fear, the group stopped off to have supplies for a sugar/caffeine rush: one brew coffee, a Starbucks double shot, an Icee (which later became a Lawndale Icee), Gardettos, and a drumstick. The journey continued on in this area, but only for a short period of time, as a truck was suspiciously following the Echomobile around.

The next image is of 2520 Park Street - a home that was recently demolished in 77006.
